STATE CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER


DATES – January 25 - 27, 2019

Registration Deadline: January 11, 2019

Boys & Girls Divisions:   4th, 5th,6th, 7th and 8th grade 

Each team will be guaranteed four games.  A limited number of teams will be allowed in the tournament.

Each player may play on only one team and all players should have numbers on the front and the back of their jersey.

AAU cards arerequired for all participants.

High School Federation Rules except as follows:

1.      Tournament roster must be submitted online

2.      Players may only play on 1 team inthe tournament

3.      Teams will receive a minimum 5 minutes for warm ups

4.      8 – Minute quarters for grades 7-9. Ball size: 29.5 (boys), 28.5 (girls)

5.      7 – Minute quarters for grades 4-6. Ball size: 28.5

6.      5 – minute half-time

7.      2 – minute overtime periods

8.   Time Outs: 3 full (1-minute) and two – 30 second.  One additional time out per overtime period.
Regulation time outs do NOT carry over into OT period. 

9.    Mercy Rule:  A running clock will be used in the 4th quarter if a team is ahead by 20 or more.

10.  **Grades 5th- 8th:

a.   No full court press when ahead by 15 points or more.

b.   Defenders MUST retreat inside the 3-point arc until the ball crosses half court.

c.  The 10 second back court rule starts when the defensive team is behind the 3-point arc.

11.   **4th grade teams shall not full court press and must play man-to-man defense (no zones).

a.   No half court trap.

b.   Defenders MUST retreat inside the 3-point arc until the ball crosses half court.

12.   Technical Fouls – Team is awarded 2 points and the ball 

a.    2 Technical fouls on a coach and he/she is ejected from the gym

b.   Player technical fouls also count as a personal foul and a team foul

c.   Technical fouls on fans will be charge to the appropriate team and administered as above

d.   Fans receiving a Technical will be immediately ejected from the gym.  The coaches are responsible for this.

13.   Game ball and home team is chosen by the referees.

14. Game time is forfeit time.  Contact the Tournament Director or assigned gym manager if there are questions about this. The team awarded the forfeit will receive “plus 15 points” in case there is a tie breaker.

 

Game results will be posted in the home gym for each division, on the Wenatchee AAU Facebook page, and using Tourney Machine.

Tiebreakers: 

1.       Head to head

2.       Least points given up amongst tied teams

3.       Point differential amongst tied teams; /- 15 points per game

4.       Least points given up all games

5.       Point differential all games
