Dear Zootown 406 Parents!

REGISTRATION OPEN!! Closes Sept 30th for Missoula  and Mission Valley Division!

Closes Oct 31st for Bitterroot Valley Division!

Tournament dates are here: https://zootown406.com/basketball-tournaments

We will open player registration Sept 1st and end registration Sept 30th

October we will purchase uniforms based on registration #'s and form teams

Practice will begin in November and continue through February

Season Ends the last weekend of Feb Ball of the Wild Tournament

We will have one coaches meeting in October TBD * Parents will be responsible for finding a coach for teams formed that do not have a volunteer that stepped forward*

Your coaches are Volunteer!  Thank you coaches for you time developing our young players!

Registration is online only and payment due at the time of registration.

Some parents returning from last season already have a coach and a team formed - please indicate your coach on the registration form or in the return email. For non-formed teams we will have try outs and put players of similar abilities together.  We want to make sure each player is challenged to improve over the season so we would do an A and B team if enough players register to do so.  Teams at tourney time are matched by playing ability the best we can so there will be teams to compete against at every level.

We hope to get every player that registers placed on a team - there will may be occasions where the program is not a good fit for the child.  It's important for the kids to know, understand and play by the rules of basketball, and to show up and work hard.

Players 2nd - 3rd are normally beginners, 4th grade should have some prior basketball experience from an instructor or program.  5th - 6th should have a least one year of experience in organized basketball - prefer 2 or more at this level. 7th and above should have at least 2 full years of experience or more.  These are just guidelines, please call me directly to discuss if you have any questions or need assistance on options to gain some experience for novice players.

Playing time is at the discretion of the coaches - as long as we are all on board with the Mission statement we are good to go!  Please call me if you have any questions or concerns.

Parent Registration includes reversible jerseys that MUST be returned at the end of the season, (please provide your child with plain black athletic shorts to wear with the jersey top),insurance, gym fees for practices, supplies for the team and fees for all of the Zootown 406 tournaments our teams will participate in. Please consider becoming a donor or business sponsor!

Other - You may take your team to another tournament for a travel weekend but coaches/parents will line that up independently and pay for it on your own, no travel tourneys are included in the player registration fees.

If a child needs a scholarship please download the form:

https://zootown406.com/sponsors-scholarships and turn it in with by Sept 30th. A committee of 3 members will review and vote on the best candidates to receive the scholarship. We can only provide based on the FUNDS available.

  • ALL families receiving a scholarship must agree to 10 volunteer hours per season.  Each athlete that receives a scholarship must provide a written essay and participate in all practices and games (within reason). Financial documents required per form instructions.
